Whenever you feel stressed or feel overwhelmed what is a good habit to have? Writing down your thoughts and feelings is a great way to release any stress kept in your head. It's like your own personal therapy where you can endlessly write whatever you feel like. It can really help you mentally and physically. You can make lists for things you want to accomplish in a day, as well as meal planning, etc. It is a relaxing habit to have and to release some negative energy. Many people find it to be a fun or soothing for their mental health. It's a safe bubble where no one else is going to see it, it can just be you and your thoughts endlessly. Journaling can help you remember key moments in your life, and also write about past experiences. Instead of dwelling on an instance or overstressing writing it down can help you lose that stress.
As you come home from a long day of work, a stressful day at school, or in a bad mental state journaling those thoughts and feelings can help your mindset. It can reduce your stress and anxiety. It is a great tool to have in your life. People stress out all the time whether it be simple or not. You should express your emotions on paper to be able to let go and remove that weight off your shoulders. Writing in the morning is a good habit rather than looking at your phone for the first thirty to forty minutes. It can reduce intrusive thoughts, and keep your memories aligned in your mind. Many people don't try to write stuff down because they feel like it won't help at all. It is definitely beneficial. You don't need to write morning, noon and night just when you feel as though you need to.
It is also a great way to create goals for yourself, and jot down notes as time goes on. You can also always look back and see if you have already passed a goal, or still need improvement. No one is perfect, but it is a good way to push some ambition for yourself. Instead of having an overboiling amount of anger in you, you can write it down to help that feeling disappear. Journaling isn't perfect writing, you can write down jotted notes, a few sentences. It doesn't need to be essay type format or anything fancy. It's a tool that is there to help you feel better in the end, and not to make things worse. You can also write about happy memories that you don't want to forget that happened in the moment as well. It's a great way to look back at old entries and see how far you've come. Overall it is a great way to start your morning or end your night. You can clear your head, and be able to reread your writing at a different time and reflect on it.
